Seeing that the Nicki Minaj fiasco is still in the air, I wish to ask questions that commentators are ignoring.
If it is that expletives were used during her performance, why did the police not act? Were they afraid?

I think this is about the ump-teenth time I am writing to the newspapers “trying” to highlight this issue. Are we still in deep slumber? When will we wake up?

On December 15, on the subject of the WikiLeaks release of secret documents, columnist Tony Fraser, in his apparent unabashed distaste of anything American, has regrettably displayed a one-sided view.

The Association of Independent Media of T&T (AIMtt) wishes to express our heartfelt thanks to veteran columnist BC Pires for his observations in his December 3 Thank God It’s Friday column, “Guilty by association.”  This well known iconoclast however is better suited at...

I was filled with sadness when I saw the behaviour of the Charlotte Street vendors. They have three days a week to sell and they are there every week of the year.

Why is George Nicholas still at the helm of state-owned Caribbean Airlines? After hearing from all sides in this very unfortunate matter, Nicholas should do the honourable thing and tender his resignation.

The mayor of Port-of-Spain is breaking the glass ceiling. The city has been a political bobolee for a number of years with successive administrations being reluctant to take decisive, hard, unpopular and practical decisions to bring about some order.

Since accepting the honour of being this country’s Attorney General, Anand Ramlogan’s tenure has been one marked with controversy and one can easily understand why this is the case.

Minister of Local Government Chandresh Sharma has certainly placed the cart before the horse when he said that “councillors are overworked and underpaid” and I am certain that if the minister were to bring this proposal to the people there would be a lot of dissenting voices to...
