Four policemen who were captured on tape allegedly stealing $96,000 from a casino in Duncan Village are expected to appear before a San Fernando magistrate on Tuesday.
The officers who are reportedly attached to an elite crime fighting unit in the Southern Division were arrested on Friday night.
Police reports indicate that the officers were taken to the Anti-Corruption Bureau in Port-of-Spain where warrants were read to them.
Specified in each warrant is that the two constables and two corporals be granted $150,000 bail and that they be made to surrender their passports. They were arrested following a robbery at Club Avenue 5, Duncan Village, San Fernando, on August 21.
Police responded to a report of a robbery at the casino. They arrested two suspects, seized $38,000 and recovered a shot gun and ammunition.
The surveillance tapes revealed men in police uniform taking money from a vault and stuffing their pockets.
