?A 42-year-old moth­er of 11 was found mur­dered at a house along Or­ange­field Road, Cara­pichi­ma, by of­fi­cers of the Guard and Emer­gency Branch, yes­ter­day. The grue­some dis­cov­ery was made af­ter 19-year-old Na­dia Ba­hadur re­port­ed to po­lice that a male rel­a­tive came to her place of work in Ch­agua­nas, his clothes stained with fresh blood and told her he had mur­dered her moth­er. Po­lice have iden­ti­fied the vic­tim as Wa­hee­da Ba­hadur, of War­renville.

She was em­ployed as a wait­ress, in Cunu­pia. Up to late yes­ter­day, the 56-year-old male rel­a­tive of the vic­tim re­mained in po­lice cus­tody, as­sist­ing them with in­ves­ti­ga­tions. He was held at the home of rel­a­tives at Sip­py Road, Gas­par­il­lo. Ba­hadur was found ly­ing on a bed with a gap­ing wound to the head. Of­fi­cers sus­pect she was beat­en to death with a ham­mer. A team of of­fi­cers led by Supts Du­lalchan, Paras­ram and ASP May­nard of the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion vis­it­ed the scene. In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing. (AS)
