?Na­tion­al women's team vol­ley­baller Kel­ly-Anne Billingy scored a match high nine points but it was not enough as Va­len­cianas de Jun­cos suf­fered its sixth de­feat in eight match­es in the Puer­to Ri­co Vol­ley­ball Fed­er­a­tion 42nd Women's Su­per League on Mon­day night. Com­ing off a 25-21, 25-17, 23-25 win against Caguas on Sat­ur­day which end­ed a string of four straight loss­es, Billingy and her team-mates were ex­pect­ed to put up a strong show­ing against ta­ble lead­ers, Llanares Toa Ba­ja. How­ev­er, Toa Ba­ja led by 18 points from Jen­nifer Jones and 13 each by Stacey Gor­don and Gra­ciela Mar­quez, whipped Jun­cos 25-23, 25-12, 25-11 for its sev­enth win in eight out­ings.

Cas­san­dra Busse chipped in with eight points for Toa Ba­ja while Kel­ly Wing with eight and Er­i­ca Lott, Car­ol Ro­driguez and Sol Gon­za­lez withn five poinst each were the oth­er main con­trib­u­tors for Jun­cos which re­mained bot­tom of the ten-team ta­ble with Caguas which went un­der to Leonas de Ponce 22-25, 26-24, 20-25, 25-20, 11-15. Jun­cos, the 2004 league win­ners, and now in dan­ger of miss­ing out on a top eight fin­ish to qual­i­fy for the sec­ond round will be back in ac­tion on Sun­day against In­dias de Mayaguez while it plays the same team five days lat­er.
