?National women's team volleyballer Kelly-Anne Billingy scored a match high nine points but it was not enough as Valencianas de Juncos suffered its sixth defeat in eight matches in the Puerto Rico Volleyball Federation 42nd Women's Super League on Monday night. Coming off a 25-21, 25-17, 23-25 win against Caguas on Saturday which ended a string of four straight losses, Billingy and her team-mates were expected to put up a strong showing against table leaders, Llanares Toa Baja. However, Toa Baja led by 18 points from Jennifer Jones and 13 each by Stacey Gordon and Graciela Marquez, whipped Juncos 25-23, 25-12, 25-11 for its seventh win in eight outings.
Cassandra Busse chipped in with eight points for Toa Baja while Kelly Wing with eight and Erica Lott, Carol Rodriguez and Sol Gonzalez withn five poinst each were the other main contributors for Juncos which remained bottom of the ten-team table with Caguas which went under to Leonas de Ponce 22-25, 26-24, 20-25, 25-20, 11-15. Juncos, the 2004 league winners, and now in danger of missing out on a top eight finish to qualify for the second round will be back in action on Sunday against Indias de Mayaguez while it plays the same team five days later.
