Former national senior coach Grace Parkinson-Griffith has returned as president of the San Fernando Netball League.
She was re-elected unopposed for her second term at the league's annual general meeting (AGM) held at the Southern Regional Indoor Sports Arena in Pleasantville on Saturday. Kanika Paul-Payne, who last season served as assistant secretary, will now fill the position of first vice-president.
Arlene Wright-Gittens remains as second vice-president while Naomi Regis Gilkes replaces Rhonda Butler-John as secretary. Assisting Regis Gilkes will be Krystal Francois. Bernice Sharpe takes over as treasurer, while Simone Lewis will operate as the public relations officer (PRO). The committee members are Joanne Payne, Kim Jones and Krista Winchester.Action in the league continues on Saturday at Skinner's Park, with Jillisa Allan netting 39 goals off 50 tries to lead the University of T&T (UTT) to a 51-21 victory over TSTT.
In the other match, Les Enfants with accurate shooting from Cindy Merrick defeated La Romaine Alliance, 35-20. Merrick shot 94 per cent, missing one attempt in her team-high 16 goals. Alliance had more attempts than its opponent 61 compared to 54 but it was wasted. Kathy-Ann Hamilton was the main culprit, netting 19 from 44.
