Na­tion­al cham­pi­on Col­in Ra­mas­ra will lead T&T's charge at the squash event of the 2010 Cen­tral Amer­i­ca and Caribbean (CAC) Games, which will be played in Bo­go­ta, Colom­bia from Ju­ly 17 to Au­gust 1. Ra­mas­ra will be the on­ly play­er to do bat­tle in the men's sin­gles, while Niki­ta Toon Tong will con­test the women's sin­gles. Don Lee, Ryan Abra­ham and Kale Wil­son make up the men's team, with Ker­rie Sam­ple, Joanne Scoon and Amy Gillezeau com­plet­ing the women's line-up. The T&T top-ranked play­er said it will def­i­nite­ly be a tough chal­lenge, how­ev­er, he feels that the twin is­land can medal in one of the cat­e­gories.

He was knocked out in the round of 16 in 2006 and Ra­mas­ra is aim­ing for a spot in the top four this time round. "My goal is to medal in the in­di­vid­ual cat­e­go­ry at this tour­na­ment. Once I qual­i­fy for the semi­fi­nals I will claim a medal since both the third and fourth fin­ish­ers re­ceive a bronze medal. "My main con­cern, how­ev­er, is the al­ti­tude and we do not have a lot of time to get used to it. Nev­er­the­less we are go­ing out there to rep­re­sent T&T and try to ac­com­plish our goals," said Ra­mas­ra. Lee and Abra­ham are ex­pect­ed to do bat­tle in the men's dou­bles, with Scoon and Gillezeau do­ing like­wise for the women, while Ra­mas­ra will team up with Sam­ple to con­test the mixed dou­bles. The T&T con­tin­gent wings out on Fri­day for Colom­bia.
