Teenagers, Cherelle Thompson placed a creditable sixth in the women's 50-metre freestyle final in a time of 26.29 seconds. This after Thompson, was second in her preliminary heat two in 26.63 seconds to be the sixth fastest qualifier for the final also. Two-time Olympian, Sharntelle Mc Lean, who also competed in the morning heats was 12th over in 27.20 and fifth in heat four.
In the women's 50-metre breaststroke, Kimba Collymore touched the wall in 33.56 seconds for eight spot, after she qualified as the seventh quickest for the final in 33.38. Thompson who also competed in the morning heats clocked 35.48 for 15th spot overall. T&T's other women's competitor on the final day of swimming, teenager, Kimberlee John-Williams timed two minutes, 29.94 seconds for 14th spot.
