An American national will appear today before an Arima magistrate charged with possession of cocaine. Police said the woman was held on Friday at Piarco International Airport allegedly with 150 grammes of cocaine. She was attempting to board American Airlines flight AA1647 to New York around 2.55 pm. Meanwhile, a Jamaican national will appear before a Port-of-Spain Magistrate charged with possession of marijuana. The suspect entered Trinidad and Tobago at the airport when he was held by officers of the Organised Crime, Narcotics and Firearms Bureau.
He was taken to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he was X-rayed.
Several foreign substances were alleged to be seen inside his body. He was placed under police guard and warded. Detectives said the suspect excreted 100 marijuana pellets from November 12 to 19. Also, a Nigerian woman will appear before an Arima magistrate, charged with having a false document. Police said the woman was held at the airport on Friday with a false driver's licence. She was attempting to board a flight to the United States, detectives said.
