A 23-year-old man has been charged with the murder of 71-year-old Gloria Virginia Quashie of Harmony Hall, Cinnamon Hill, Tobago. Christopher James, of Harmony Hall, stood before Magistrate Joan Gill yesterday accused of the crime. James was held on December 4 after the decomposing body of the elderly woman and unidentified skeletal remains of another female were found in a lot. Quashie went missing on November 29, 2010 and her decomposing body was found on December 4, a short distance away from her home. An autopsy performed on her body revealed the pensioner was strangled. There were also chop wounds to her head and body. A post-mortem on the skeletal remains was inconclusive. The Tobago Homicide Bureau is continuing investigations. James is expected to reappear in court on December 21.
