Police are investigating two more gun-related murders which took place over the last 48 hours.
In the most recent incident, police said, an 18-year-old Crown Trace, Chaguanas man was gunned down yesterday while a teenage girl standing next to him was injured and warded in critical condition at hospital.
According to police reports around 5.45 pm Nicholas Simon, was at Easle Avenue, Enterprise, near a playing field known as Africa Grounds when he was ambushed and killed.
Police said Simon and the unidentified girl and other men were chatting when two men approached and opened fire.
In the second murder, which took the murder toll to 20 for the year, the dead man, identified as Anthony Sammy, was cornered and shot repeatedly by his attackers.
Sammy was at Bourg Mulatresse around 2.30 pm on Sunday with a group of women when three gunmen approached the apartment complex where they were standing.
On seeing the men, Sammy ran and was pursued. The men cornered Sammy in an apartment and shot him.
Police have labelled the killing as gang-related.
