I am angry, very angry. Why?
Because an innocent wife, mother and grandmother, Mrs Sally-Ann Cuffie, had her hands seriously damaged by a scratch bomb which was thrown into her car recently.
Her valiant effort to save the lives of her grandchildren, at her own expense, must never be forgotten.
For years, citizens have been complaining about the fireworks and scratch bomb menace. We have been studiously ignored by the powers that be.
Our politicians are a bunch of cowards for their failure to permanently ban scratch bombs in T&T. A bunch of cowards with, some say, vested interests in the import of these devices.
This Health and Safety threat to the citizens of T&T first started gathering steam under the Patrick Manning PNM administration. They did nothing.
It picked up under the Kamla Persad-Bissessar-led PP and got exponentially worse. They also did nothing.
Now, under the Keith Rowley-led PNM, it certainly appears as if they, as well, are going to do nothing.
I suppose that the only way action will be taken is if Mrs Cuffie was the mother or wife of a sitting or past politician.
