ST GEORGE'S–The Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) will host a series of promotional activities in T&T from today to Saturday. A press conference, two travel agent expos, and a consumer show will directly engage the media, travel agents, and consumers respectively, with the aim of selling Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique as the destination of choice for leisure and romance.
"Hosting Trinbagonians is like hosting family; the similarities in cultural expressions and the tranquility of our three islands make it the perfect getaway," said Chrislyn Lashington, corporate communications officer for the GTA.In 2014, more than 13,000 visitors from T&T spent time in Grenada, making this country the highest visitor source market in the Caribbean. Visitors from the twin island republic mostly travelled to the tri-island state for holiday, weddings and honeymoons, business, and to spend time with family and friends.
Brenda Hood, Minister for Culture & Heritage will lead the delegation to Trinidad which will include officials from the Grenada Tourism Authority; Shirma Wells, director for the Spicemas Corporation; Cultural Ambassadors Wilt 'Tallpree' Cambridge and Hollice 'Mr. Killa' Mapp; and representatives from Spice Island Beach Resort, Sandals La Source Grenada, Radisson Grenada Beach Resort, True Blue Bay Resort, Blue Horizons Garden Resort, True Masqueraders and Spice Addiction Entertainment. LIAT � the Caribbean Airline, Caribbean Airlines, and IMG Entertainment will join the team in Trinidad.
