Ten lo­cal foot­ball ref­er­ees yes­ter­day re­ceived Fi­fa badges to join the of­fi­cial list of ref­er­ees for this year's in­ter­na­tion­al match­es.

The ref­er­ees were pre­sent­ed with the badges at a func­tion host­ed by the T&T Foot­ball As­so­ci­a­tion (TTFA) at the VIP Lounge of the Hase­ly Craw­ford Sta­di­um, Mu­cu­rapo, yes­ter­day.

Crys­tal Sobers, who of­fi­ci­at­ed at the Con­ca­caf U-15 Women's Cham­pi­onship last year, re­ceived her first badge for se­nior in­ter­na­tion­al match­es. Ce­cile Hinds, first list­ed in 2013, was giv­en an­oth­er badge. Rod­phin Har­ris, first named in 2013 re­turns to the list this year. He was ap­point­ed to the re­cent 2018 World Cup Qual­i­fi­er be­tween Montser­rat and Cu­ra­cao.

Oth­er names in­clud­ed were Kevin Lewis-First (first in­ter­na­tion­al as­sis­tant ref­er­ees' badge), Ains­ley Rochard (Fi­fa As­sis­tant Ref­er­ee since 2008), Joseph Bertrand (first year on the as­sis­tant ref­er­ees' list), Glen Kevin Charles (first year on the as­sis­tant ref­er­ees' list), Tri­cia Des Vi­gnes, (first year on in­ter­na­tion­al women ref­er­ees' list), Caleb Wales (in­ter­na­tion­al as­sis­tant ref­er­ee since 2013), who is cur­rent­ly par­tic­i­pat­ing in a UE­FA course for of­fi­cials in Switzer­land. To­ba­go was rep­re­sent­ed by Keon Yorke, who will see his first year on the ref­er­ees' list.

TTFA pres­i­dent Ray­mond Tim Kee and head of the TTFA's ref­er­ees de­part­ment Ramesh Ramd­han paid trib­ute to the ap­point­ed of­fi­cials. Al­so at the cer­e­mo­ny was pres­i­dent of the T&T Olympic Com­mit­tee (TTOC) Bri­an Lewis.
