Many national junior squash players have been training since April 11 under the watch of coaches Josh Pinnard and David Scott in preparation for the Junior Caribbean Championships in Barbados later this year.
The junior players took part in a tournament between Thursday and yesterday in an attempt to impress Pinnard and Scott. The final squad for the Caribbean Championships will be chosen after the second and final junior tournament from May 28 - 30. The coaches have put together an intense and impressive programme for the juniors hoping to have an impact at the upcoming Junior Caribbean Championships.
In the tournament played over the past few days, girls and boys competed in the Under-13, U-15, U-17 and U-19 categories.All categories were played in a round robin format except for the boys U-17 and boys U-19 divisions. Many juniors who represented the country before including Marie-Claire Barcant, Jinan Al Rawi, Nicholas Caddle and Jonathan Blanc are part of the training squad.
