There is a time and a place for everything. It seems that since the death of its chief strategist, Martin Joseph, the PNM is unable to get an understanding of the current elections climate and the minds of thousands of undecided voters. The portrayal of a woman in yellow with a vodka bottle at the march past of the PNM Sports and Family Day spoke volumes about the mind-set of its hierarchy. This was in the presence of hundreds of young children.
If, as PNM chairman Franklin Khan said, its political leader, Dr Keith Rowley, was unaware of that portrayal, then what happened after was inexcusable. Mr Khan stated that Dr Rowley was most upset at what he saw unfolding before his eyes. But it seems as if he did nothing to stop it.A true leader would have immediately moved to shut down that aspect of the presentation and restored some sanity to what was supposed to be a family day.
