Many are condemning the WICB for dropping Mr Chanderpaul. They are looking at it one way but maybe they should look at other angles.
How many players in the world over 40 are still playing cricket? Very few. Mr Chanderpaul may be making way for his own son, who knows?
The WI cricket team of the 80s consisted of a number of players who aged together and those who didn't retire were dropped, leaving cricket in the West Indies still now trying to catch up.
We have a new coach who is on trial and he is supported by positive and forward-thinking selectors; let us all encourage them.
After 168 Test matches Mr Chanderpaul should now join the over 40 club.
