Chem-Dry, the world's largest floor cleaning franchise, is open for business in T&T. The growing franchise has locations in 49 countries and continues to expand its territories to virtually all corners of the international market, making it the clear global leader in floor and carpet cleaning.
Franchisee Alan Cox will oversee the T&T locations. In addition to targeting Chem-Dry's traditional residential market, Cox is targeting higher-end commercial businesses, which make up an underserved market segment.
"One of the biggest challenges for us is that we do not have carpets, and Chem-Dry is very much known for its carpet cleaning strengths," Cox said.
"We see opportunities beyond that, and we see the ability for the cleaning of sofas and rugs and drapes, and all the houses that have tile and other hard flooring surfaces.
"Things do need to be cleaned professionally, and we're confident that Chem-Dry's products will lead the way in all of those areas, not just carpets. We have some exciting plans together, and Chem-Dry has been very open-minded in our suggestions on how to penetrate the commercial market here."
With more than 3,000 franchises, Chem-Dry cleans more than 10,000 homes and offices a day; T&T is the 49th country for the iconic franchise system, which was founded in the United States in 1977.
Once his T&T Chem-Dry franchise is up and running, Cox hopes to pursue more Chem-Dry franchise opportunities in the Caribbean.
"As soon as we establish our footprint here, we have options that will allow us to expand," he said.
"That's certainly part of the reason for going with Chem-Dry. We think regionally, not locally."
Cox's confidence in Chem-Dry's record of success as the world's largest floor cleaning service is a major reason the master franchisee partnered with the company. The franchise offers franchisees a wealth of training and support to help them learn how to increase their business and to make them more efficient.
"Chem-Dry does have a system that is effective. It works," Cox said.
"They are very good at what they do, and the promises they put forward, they deliver on.
"The whole package, including the natural products, the experience, the volume of houses they clean, and the health reasons for cleaning–if marketed properly, it presents a very well-rounded package for better success."
