Samuel Badree and Rishard Harris led Powergen and Merry Boys respectively to victories yesterday in round three of the T&T Cricket Board T20 competition.
At Esmeralda, West Indies spinner Badree grabbed 4/12 but Esmeralda still posted a competitive 148 behind 50 from Shimroy Barrington. Strassark Sankar also took four wickets (4/30) for Powergen, while Teshawn Castro cracked 46 for the home team.
In reply, Powergen got to 151/6 in 18.5 overs after Riral Patel top scored with 40. Powergen, which already qualified for the quarterfinals, sealed top spot in group C with the win.
At Pierre Road, Charlieville, Harris had a solid all round effort scoring an unbeaten 41 and taking 3/18 to lead Merry Boys to a 48-run win over Alescon Comets in group B.
