A 36-year-old man appeared in the Scarborough Magistrates Court yesterday charged with the New Year's Day murder of a Tobago man.Verne Paul Williams, of Diego Martin, was charged with the murder of 55-year-old Curtis Lovelace.Lovelace was stabbed about his body and killed on January 1 at his home at Delancy's Apartment, 71 Bacolet Point, Scarborough.Williams was also charged for wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm of 32-year-old Marilyn Thomas.
The accused appeared before Magistrate Nannette Ford-John. He was not called upon to plead since the charges were laid indictably.Williams was represented by attorney Samantha Lawson and was remanded to reappear in court on February 6.PC Joefield of the Tobago Homicide Bureau laid the charges.
