Former Fifa vice-president Jack Warner says he is not concerned about the imminent release of a report into allegations of corruption into the football governing body's World Cup bidding process. The report was compiled by the former chief investigator of Fifa's ethics committee, Michael Garcia, after more than a year of investigations.
The probe was launched after Russia and Qatar won bids to host the World Cup finals in 2018 and 2022, respectively.Contacted for comment on Friday, Warner said: "Fifa is history for me. I am not in the least bothered by any report."
Warner resigned from Fifa after the ethics committee was about to investigate him for allegedly offering bribes to specific member nations of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) to support then Fifa presidential nominee Mohamed bin Hammam. The money was allegedly paid in cash at the Hyatt Regency, Port-of-Spain, during a meeting.
Warner was suspended pending the outcome of that inquiry. He said then that people within the organisation had "sought to undermine me in ways that are unimaginable."
