In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the T&T Chapter of the University of the West Indies Alumni Association (UWIAATT), a fund-raising initiative will be hosted on Sunday, February 17, at the spacious Sport and Physical Education Centre (SPEC), UWI, St Augustine from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm.
The theme of the event; Breakfast and Fashion Show with the UWI Alumni, would be the first of its kind and promises to be a spectacular occasion, with some of this country's established fashion designers as well as their upcoming colleagues displaying their 2013 collection.
Speaking on behalf of the event and what patrons could anticipate; executive producer, distinguished UWIAATT awardee Simeon Sandiford said, "UWIAATT and Sanch Electronix Limited have collaborated to launch a ground-breaking undertaking appropriately christened The Caribbean Pepperpot, the vision of which is to ensure long-term socio-economic survival and prosperity of Caribbeanness."
Ticket purchases would entitle patrons to the fashion show, a commemorative CD, a sumptuous Caribbean-style breakfast and live entertainment by UWI-affiliated artistes.
There would also be alumni artefacts as well as all the new soca and Panorama hits for Carnival 2013 on sale at a marketplace, which will be located indoors on the SPEC Basketball Court.
Patrons would also be afforded the opportunity to participate in a raffle on the day for acquisition of one of artist emeritus Leroy Clarke's prestigious paintings entitled The Sermon.
