Busi­ness­woman and for­mer Miss Uni­verse 1977 Janelle Com­mis­siong will be host­ing her an­nu­al Car­ni­val fete Un­der The Trees at the Nor­mandie Ho­tel, St Ann's to­day.

"It's go­ing to be my first part­ner­ship with Nor­mandie Un­der the Trees at the Nor­mandie. The fete's suc­cess de­pends on a com­bi­na­tion of great food, great mu­sic and par­ty-lov­ing peo­ple. There will be pop­u­lar so­ca artistes to en­ter­tain guests."

Among per­form­ing are 3veni & KI, Iw­er, Blaxx and Ben­jai.Com­mis­siong-Chow's fa­ther al­so worked at the Nor­mandie. Mu­sic will be pro­vid­ed by DJ Hur­ri­cane George and Point Fortin En­gine Room.

Com­mis­siong-Chow said pa­trons will have the choice of a menu that in­cludes In­di­an, Chi­nese and Cre­ole buf­fets along with corn soup and bake and shark and bars or­gan­ised by the Nor­mandie.

Some of the pro­ceeds from the event will ben­e­fit the New Life Min­istries Re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion Cen­tre, a char­i­ty that Com­mis­siong-Chow has worked with.
