Ac­tion will re­sume to­day in the Dig­i­cel TT Pro League with a round two, match day six clash be­tween two teams out of con­tention for cham­pi­onship ho­n­ours when Po­lice FC and St Ann's Rangers con­vene at the Ato Boldon Sta­di­um, Cou­va, from 6 pm.At the end of the fix­ture, on­ly one out­stand­ing match will re­main, Cen­tral FC's clash with North East Stars, of which a date and venue are yet to be an­nounced.

Mean­while, to­day's chal­lengers, Po­lice and St Ann's Rangers, at sixth and sev­enth, re­spec­tive­ly, will be seek­ing to make up ground af­ter both clubs suf­fered mis­er­able de­feats in league ac­tion over the week­end.On Fri­day, Po­lice was eas­i­ly out­done 5-2 at the hands of reign­ing cham­pi­on and ti­tle hope­ful W Con­nec­tion. Even af­ter tak­ing an ear­ly lead through Jameel Per­ry, Po­lice con­ced­ed four first-half goals, be­fore its heavy de­feat was af­firmed af­ter mid­field­er Jo­evin Jones com­plet­ed a hat-trick with a world class free kick 15 min­utes be­fore full time.

In its last match, Rangers faced a big­ger chal­lenge to its op­po­nent on the day, sec­ond-po­si­tioned Neal & Massy Cale­do­nia AIA, but in the end the lat­ter took a 4-2 win. Rangers trailed twice and equalised as many times, through Keifer Ed­wards and De­von Mod­este, re­spec­tive­ly, and looked on its way to se­cur­ing a pos­i­tive re­sult, be­fore Cale­do­nia stormed the last 10 min­utes via a pair of goals from na­tion­al mid­field­er Key­on Ed­wards (sec­ond goal of the match) and Shel­don Hold­er.

The two teams last met in league ac­tion back in De­cem­ber at the Man­ny Ramjohn Sta­di­um, Mara­bel­la, with each tak­ing a share of the spoils af­ter a 2-2 draw. Mid­field­ers Er­rol Charles and An­ton Hutchin­son scored Po­lice's two goals, while De­von Mod­este bagged a brace, the sec­ond of which se­cured a point in the fi­nal minute of ac­tion.No league match­es will be com­pet­ed this Fri­day as Cale­do­nia AIA and league debu­tants Cen­tral FC meet in the TTFF FA Tro­phy com­pe­ti­tion. Match­es are ex­pect­ed to con­tin­ue on Sat­ur­day. The league will make an an­nounce­ment by Thurs­day.
