National senior players, Nolan Tash and Darlene Ramdin were voted as the men's and women's 'Most Valuable Players" after leading their respective clubs, BIG South East Port-of-Spain and Glamorgan to the $1,000 titles in the fourth annual Mark Daly Invitational Volleyball Memorial Tournament at the Jean Pierre Complex, Mucurapo on Sunday night.
In the men's decider, Tash who was also named as the 'Best Spiker" inspired SEPoS to a come-from-behind 26-28, 25-23, 25-20, 25-20 victory over last year's champions, Southern United Volleyball Academy.
All the other individual awards were taken by Southern United players led by three for national player, Joshua Mohammed, "Best Defender", "Best Libero" and "Best Passer"; Portugal-based Marc Honore "Best Blocker" and DJ Nelson "Best Server".
In the women's decider, Glamorgan led by national duo, Finland-based Darlene Ramdin and libero Rechez Lindsay brushed aside last year's and 2011 winner, Technocrats which featured national player Andrea Kinsale and US-based Samantha Prescott in its line-up 25-21, 25-21, 25-16.
Ramdin was eventually voted as the "Most Valuable Player" as well as the "Best Spiker" while club mate Lindsay copped three awards, the "Best Defender", "Best Libero" and "Best Passer".
Two other T&T national women's team members, Andrea Kinsale and Renele Forde were named "best Blocker" and "Best Setter" respectively while Camille Dwyer of Technocrats got the "Best Server" accolade.
