Mystery spinner Sunil Narine intends to keep it simple in order to gain success in the upcoming Karbonn Smart Champions League in India.Narine speaking after the announcement by the Ministry of Tourism that they would be giving the Red Force $1M, at the Queen's Park Oval yesterday said :"I think the key to doing well for our team is sticking to the basics well. We need to play to our strength and in order to do this we need to keep it simple."I will be looking to go out there and perform to the best of my ability to help my country. We have a very good team and all the guys have been working hard and I think we will do very well."
Narine will spearhead the Red Force attack and a lot will depend on him, as he has experience in India conditions, playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League. The opening game for T&T Red Force will be against the Brisbane Heat in Ranchi, which is one of the home venues to the Kolkata Knight Riders. According to Narine :"I have experience playing at Ranchi for the Kolkata Knight Riders and have done well there. I think that I can share my knowledge with my team when it comes to the venue and also to some of the teams. So far we have studied the teams that we are going to meet and the players have knowledge of them going into the tournament."
Narine also came in for high praise from batting legend Brian Lara yesterday as well. The mohawk-style spinner, was described as one of the best examples as a cricketer. According to Lara :"I would like to say that a great ambassador for cricket in this country is Sunil Narine. This man has taken the cricket world by storm but yet remains a very humble guy. He is a great example to young people and I applaud him."
