Radio talk show host Errol Fabien intends to launch his campaign to contest the St Joseph by-election on Sunday.But Fabien has not made up his mind whether he will do so as an independent candidate, under the banner of the Movement for Social Justice or for another political entity.Fabien said yesterday that he had a single conversation with the MSJ and was expected to have another meeting with the party's political leader David Abdulah yesterday.
"I have had several single conversations with more than one group," he said in a telephone interview.Fabien said he feels strongly that his foray into electoral politics might be as an independent.Abdulah said yesterday that the party was continuing to have discussions with Fabien and at an appropriate time both Fabien and the MSJ will reveal the outcome of those discussions.
Fabien said his campaign launch with take place at 1 pm at a savannah in St Joseph.Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar announced the St Joseph by-election on November 4 after the seat was officially declared vacant by Speaker Wade Mark during last week's sitting of Parliament.
