Mem­ber of Par­lia­ment for Diego Mar­tin East Dr Amery Browne has dis­trib­uted 22 neb­u­lis­ers to chil­dren with chron­ic asth­ma. The pri­vate sec­tor do­na­tion came from a source, how­ev­er, who wish­es to re­main anony­mous. The pre­sen­ta­tion to lucky chil­dren from the North East, West and Cen­tral Diego Mar­tin con­stituen­cies took place at his con­stituen­cy of­fice yes­ter­day. So­cial work­er and con­stituen­cy ad­min­is­tra­tor Eu­nice Git­tens, along with pe­di­a­tri­cian and vol­un­teer at the event Dr David Bratt as­sist­ed the MP in mak­ing the event a suc­cess. Git­tens se­lect­ed chil­dren who were most in need of the equip­ment.

Ac­cord­ing to Browne: "The dri­ve was trig­gered as a re­sult of a child who re­port­ed­ly died dur­ing the cur­few hours of the state of emer­gency last year, hav­ing not re­ceived med­ical treat­ment in a time­ly man­ner." Bratt said: "It is won­der­ful that Dr Browne has de­cid­ed to em­bark up­on such a dri­ve, as the neb­u­lis­ers will be very use­ful to the chil­dren that are most in need." He said since the Med­ical In­fir­mary at St James has been shut down, par­ents were now forced to take their chil­dren to Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex a longer dis­tance away, which is dif­fi­cult for some chil­dren with fre­quent asth­ma at­tacks.
