Resh­ma Ra­goonath

A 17-year-old boy ac­cused of cul­ti­vat­ing mar­i­jua­na was re­fused bail yes­ter­day when he ap­peared in court. The teenag­er, of Mara­bel­la, was sent to the Youth Train­ing Cen­tre (YTC). He ap­peared in court yes­ter­day be­fore San Fer­nan­do mag­is­trate Ali­cia Chankar, who re­mand­ed him to YTC pend­ing a trace of his crim­i­nal record. He will reap­pear in court on April 17.

The young man is ac­cused of cul­ti­vat­ing mar­i­jua­na on April 12 at St James Street, Mara­bel­la. Five mar­i­jua­na trees in plant pots were ten­dered in­to ev­i­dence.
