Artists working in video art and experimental film can submit works to be included in the second New Media programme facilitated by the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival (TTFF) and ARC Magazine. Artists from the Caribbean and its Diaspora, as well as artists who address these spaces in their work, are eligible to apply. A release from the TTFF and ARC Magazine stated that New Media takes place from September 21-28 at Medulla Art Gallery in Woodbrook as part of the TTFF 2012 (September 19 - October 2), and is supported by the Ministry of Arts and Multiculturalism.
About New Media
Video art/experimental film has been at the forefront of contemporary art practices for the last four decades and has developed in parallel with advancements in technology and globalisation. Artists whose work pushes and blurs the boundaries between film and art, while exploring new themes and concerns are encouraged to apply. The deadline for submission is May 15. ARC Magazine is a non-profit publication dedicated to showcasing art work with a pan-Caribbean focus while highlighting the lack of boundaries that now exist in the midst of the Internet and post-information age. It was launched in January 2011.
