Artists work­ing in video art and ex­per­i­men­tal film can sub­mit works to be in­clud­ed in the sec­ond New Me­dia pro­gramme fa­cil­i­tat­ed by the Trinidad and To­ba­go Film Fes­ti­val (TTFF) and ARC Mag­a­zine. Artists from the Caribbean and its Di­as­po­ra, as well as artists who ad­dress these spaces in their work, are el­i­gi­ble to ap­ply. A re­lease from the TTFF and ARC Mag­a­zine stat­ed that New Me­dia takes place from Sep­tem­ber 21-28 at Medul­la Art Gallery in Wood­brook as part of the TTFF 2012 (Sep­tem­ber 19 - Oc­to­ber 2), and is sup­port­ed by the Min­istry of Arts and Mul­ti­cul­tur­al­ism.

About New Me­dia

Video art/ex­per­i­men­tal film has been at the fore­front of con­tem­po­rary art prac­tices for the last four decades and has de­vel­oped in par­al­lel with ad­vance­ments in tech­nol­o­gy and glob­al­i­sa­tion. Artists whose work push­es and blurs the bound­aries be­tween film and art, while ex­plor­ing new themes and con­cerns are en­cour­aged to ap­ply. The dead­line for sub­mis­sion is May 15. ARC Mag­a­zine is a non-prof­it pub­li­ca­tion ded­i­cat­ed to show­cas­ing art work with a pan-Caribbean fo­cus while high­light­ing the lack of bound­aries that now ex­ist in the midst of the In­ter­net and post-in­for­ma­tion age. It was launched in Jan­u­ary 2011.
