I ap­plaud Ed­u­ca­tion Min­is­ter Dr Tim Gopeesingh for hav­ing the tes­tic­u­lar for­ti­tude to men­tion the high ab­sen­teeism rate of some teach­ers at a TTUTA cel­e­bra­to­ry event. While there are many good teach­ers, there are sev­er­al who abuse the sys­tem. Some peo­ple may not agree with Gopeesingh's sug­ges­tions but I think it's a good place for the Gov­ern­ment and TTUTA to be­gin their dis­cus­sions on the is­sue.
