The crick­et com­pe­ti­tions of the Sug­ar and En­er­gy Fes­ti­val 2012 bowled off with great en­thu­si­asm in the wind­ball and hard­ball com­pe­ti­tions. The Point Lisas Cham­ber of Com­merce hosts this fes­ti­val every two years high­light­ing the tremen­dous tal­ent that ex­ists with­inthe Cen­tral re­gion. This year, the wind­ball com­pe­ti­tion show­cas­es 14 com­mu­ni­ties and teams. The wind­ball com­pe­ti­tion takes place night­ly with the quar­ter­fi­nal­ist be­ing de­ter­mined at the end of the round robin stages.

Ad­di­tion­al­ly, the Cham­ber launched its 15/15 Over hard­ball crick­et com­pe­ti­tion which takes pace on week­day evenings. The semi­fi­nals of this com­pe­ti­tion takes place to­mor­row from 4.00 pm and the fi­nal on Sat­ur­day, at Gilbert Park, Cou­va.

This year's com­pe­ti­tions are be­ing co-or­di­nat­ed by well known crick­et ad­min­is­tra­tor in the Cen­tral re­gion, Mishri Lutc­me­di­al. Cash prizes in ex­cess of $10,000 is be­ing gen­er­at­ed by busi­ness­men of the Cham­ber, with as­sis­tance be­ing ex­pect­ed from the Min­istry of Sport and Youth Af­fairs.
