Young peo­ple from var­i­ous ter­tiary ed­u­ca­tion­al in­sti­tu­tions across the coun­try are par­tic­i­pat­ing in the Min­istry of Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment's an­nu­al Va­ca­tion Em­ploy­ment Pro­gramme, which be­gan on June 22 and will run un­til the end of Au­gust. At the launch of the pro­gramme at the Min­istry's Kent House of­fices, Min­is­ter of State in the Min­istry of Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment Rudranath In­dars­ingh said: "I want to com­mend each of you on your aca­d­e­m­ic achieve­ments. This pro­gramme is an op­por­tu­ni­ty to ex­pose you, the fu­ture work­ers of this coun­try, to the world of work and to ser­vice to the coun­try. "Here, you will have the op­por­tu­ni­ty to ap­ply what you are learn­ing in your ed­u­ca­tion­al in­sti­tu­tions to the work­ing en­vi­ron­ment for the ben­e­fit of both the or­gan­i­sa­tion and the peo­ple of Trinidad and To­ba­go." Stu­dents from the Uni­ver­si­ty of the West In­dies, Col­lege of Sci­ence, Tech­nol­o­gy and Ap­plied Arts of Trinidad and To­ba­go (Costaatt), Roytec, Uni­ver­si­ty of the South­ern Caribbean and Uni­ver­si­ty of Trinidad and To­ba­go, will be in­volved in the day-to-day op­er­a­tions of the Min­istry as well as the 14 mu­nic­i­pal cor­po­ra­tions as part of the pro­gramme.
