A little over a week after 23-year-old waitress Anuradha Parey's body was found at a business place in Sangre Grande, a 33-year-old watchman appeared in court yesterday charged with her murder. Rishard Ali, of Boys Town, Sangre Grande, appeared before Magistrate Ejenny Espinet in the Sangre Grande First Court. Ali was charged with murdering Parey on July 8 at his father's agricultural shop, Andre Street, Sangre Grande.
Her nude body was found there after investigators received an anonymous tip-off. Parey was found naked and was covered with a sheet. An autopsy on her body by forensic pathologist Dr Valery Alexandrov at the Forensic Science Centre, St James, stated Parey died from blunt-force trauma to the head. Ali was represented by attorney Carl Quamina. He will reappear before Espinet on August 13.
