League champions Real Dimension will tackle Premier Division rival Trincity Nationals in the Women's League Football (Wolf) FA Trophy final, at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo, this evening, from 6 pm. Both teams, which share the top of the Premier Division standings, are expected to provide top class football for the top-prize purse of $5,500. The last time they met, the match ended 2-2, with sisters Shanelle and Jonelle Warrick each scoring for Trincity, while Alana Burgin scored a double for the champions.
Real Dimension remains with a better head-to-head record this season, having scored a convincing 5-2 victory in the first leg of the league encounter, in May. Janine Francois, Dernelle Mascall, Rhea Belgrave, Tasha St Louis and Afiyah Matthias were all on target for Dimension, while Shanisa Camejo and Warrick (Shanelle) scoring for Trincity.
Trincity, however, was quite impressive en route to the FA Trophy final, dropping First Division East's Arima Giants 6-2 in the last four, with the Warrick sisters recording a brace each. Real Dimension, in contrast, edged Premier club Malick City 1-0, with a lone goal from former national youth player Tiana Bateau. League action will also continue on Sunday, the same day as the final of the First Division Big Eight competition. As announced, St Augustine SC and Step by Step will challenge in the final at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella from 4 pm. The third place match to decide the other promoted team between St Ann's Rangers and Debe All Stars will kick off at the same venue from 2 pm.
