While chatting in the car park of a San Fernando restaurant on Friday, a pensioner and two of his colleagues were robbed of more than $12,000 by gunmen. Police believed the two suspects who robbed 71-year-old Ray Janey, 42-year-old Tenron Harper and Telal Ramcharran, 58, may have been lurking around the area, waiting for their victims.
Around 5.15 pm, the men were standing in the car park of Wing On Chinese Restaurant, at Cipero Road, when they were robbed. Harper, a draftsman of Bellview Road, Arima, was robbed of two gold chains valued $4,000, his two mobile phones valued $3,000, and a wallet valued $50, which contained $160.
They robbed Janey, a consultant, of De Gannes Village, Siparia, of $300, while, Ramcharran, also a draftsman, was robbed of a $3,000 gold chain and an ID band valued $1,000. The suspects ran off. Police are investigating.
