A con­fi­dent T&T?pair of Shan­ntol Ince and Car­los Greene left here on Fri­day to take part in the Par­a­lympic Games which start in Lon­don on Wednes­day. The con­fi­dent duo has promised to capi­tilise on the suc­cess of the T&T?team which re­cent­ly re­turned from the Olympic Games with four medals, in­clud­ing its sec­ond gold medal through 19-year-old Keshorn Wal­cott. On hand to see the pair off was Min­is­ter of Sport, Anil Roberts, who wished the pair well.

The Min­is­ter urged Ince and Greene to take heart from the team's per­for­mance in Lon­don and rep­re­sent the coun­try to the best of their abil­i­ties. Speak­ing about T&T's chances of medalling, Min­is­ter Roberts stat­ed: "I'm sure Shan­ntol and Car­los have looked on at the tremen­dous ef­fort of the Olympians; mak­ing fi­nals and earn­ing pre­cious met­al. They should be buoyed by these im­pres­sive per­for­mances and leave these shores with ex­tra con­fi­dence that T&T can mount the ros­trum. We want them both to do their best-medal or not."
