I was very pleased to finally read the article that was so passionate, and filled with workable solutions by Guardian's Debbie Jacob. If taken seriously by the relevant authorities, these recommendations could work wonders! Monday's article contained, "We need not just a Dangerous Dog Act, but one that is meant to protect us all from the abuse and crime that goes on in society."
Animals need protection from abusers so they will not turn violent on people. Showing compassion for innocent animals and prosecuting those who abuse them show that we are a caring people. It shows that we are willing to recognise the connections between animal abuse and crime so that we can prevent future crimes. This should be an opportunity to develop the discipline and the caring we need to see our way forward so we can truly become a nation with 2020 vision.
Ms Jacob's article was packed with eye-opening facts about animals cops rescuing abused animals. We do need cops like these as the article stated "murderers...very often start out by killing and torturing animals as kids". This article should be forwarded to parliament; it is guaranteed to work! Thank you Debbie, you have a great Mind!
