The lo­cal pairs of Ayan­na Dyette and El­ki Phillip and Chris­t­ian Fran­cois and Kevin Rivers will both be in ac­tion when the Norce­ca Beach Vol­ley­ball Cir­cuit vis­its Chu­la Vista, Cal­i­for­nia for the eighth stop of the con­ti­nen­tal tour, a dou­ble-gen­der event from to­day un­til Sun­day.

It will be the sec­ond time in three years the US Olympic Train­ing Cen­tre in Chu­la Vista, Cal­i­for­nia is host­ing an event of the Norce­ca Cir­cuit, the pre­vi­ous one hav­ing tak­en place in 2010. In ad­di­tion to Dyette and Phillip, the St Lu­cian team of Gif­ta Fran­cois and Dana Hamil­ton are the oth­er Caribbean women teams in­volved in the ten-team tour­na­ment in which Puer­to Ri­co's Yarleen San­ti­a­go and Yamiles­ka Yan­tin who tri­umphed in Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic and Puer­to Ri­co be­ing favourites.

Mex­i­co's Bibi Can­de­las, who claimed the ti­tles in Cay­man Is­lands and at home in Tolu­ca com­bin­ing with Mayra Gar­cia, will be team­ing up with Martha Re­vuelta. In the men's tour­ney, the T&T pair along with Turks and Caicos Is­lands' James Cuero and Arnold De­lan­cy, and US?Vir­gin Is­lands' Marc Lomeli and An­tho­ny Pip­pen are the Caribbean rep­re­sen­ta­tives and will come up against Puer­to Ri­co's Rober­to "Ra­fu" Ro­driguez and Er­ick Had­dock who are one of sev­er­al mul­ti-win­ners of 2012 tak­ing part. Ro­driguez com­bined with Had­dock to win the Cay­man Is­lands and Puer­to Ri­co events, but he al­so won in Guatemala and Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic part­ner­ing with Pablo Guz­man and Or­lan­do Irizarry re­spec­tive­ly.

Cana­da, Cos­ta Ri­ca, Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic, Guatemala, Mex­i­co, T&T and hosts USA have reg­is­tered teams in both gen­ders. El Sal­vador, US Vir­gin Is­lands and Turks and Caicos will com­pete on­ly in the men's di­vi­sion while Saint Lu­cia will play in the women's com­pe­ti­tion. Match­es serve off from 9 am (12 noon T&T time) to­day with pool play which will con­tin­ue to­mor­row un­til play­off match­es start at 1 pm (4 pm TT time). Semi­fi­nals and fi­nals are sched­uled for Sun­day from 12 noon and 2 pm while the bronze medal match start at 2.30 pm. The women's bronze medal match will be at 3.30 pm and the gold medal match at 4.30 pm and the men's fi­nal, from 5.30 pm.
