The people of Diego Martin are yet to be informed why the fare for short drops has been raised from three dollars to four dollars by car. Already with the high cost of living, why is it that the public wasn't notified through the media? Why weren't we given a reason for the increase? We are now left at the mercy of drivers who are now only willing to carry passengers a short-drop distance.
Who are the relevant authorities to address this situation? If this situation is not dealt with it can lead to further increases, which at this point in this country's economical state, can have strenuous effects. Citizens' salaries are not improving and even if they do, everything else is increased. Transportation is a staple for most people who can't afford vehicles. There is a need for stringent regulation when it comes to fares for transport in this country.
Again, the Diego Martin stretch is not a long, winding road, so why has the fare gone to four dollars when transport to town costs only five?
