In de­liv­er­ing his con­tri­bu­tion on the mo­tion of cen­sure against the At­tor­ney Gen­er­al, Diego Mar­tin Cen­tral MP Dr Amery Browne ex­pressed re­gret for the role he played in vot­ing in favour of the con­tro­ver­sial Sec­tion 34. Browne said he was just be­ing hon­est.

"I am very sor­ry that I vot­ed on this par­tic­u­lar bill. I re­gret my vote on this par­tic­u­lar mat­ter," he said in Par­lia­ment yes­ter­day. The apol­o­gy came af­ter Browne was cau­tioned sev­er­al times by Speak­er Wade Mark for fail­ing to con­nect the dots in his con­tri­bu­tion and re­peat­ing what oth­er mem­bers had said.

Mark asked the mem­bers to pay at­ten­tion to Stand­ing Or­der 43.1 since he did not want to stop any­one from speak­ing. "Don't ar­gue with the Speak­er," Mark warned Browne who tried to in­ter­ject when scold­ed. "Rather than go on you are chal­leng­ing me." Browne was al­so told to de­sist from im­pli­cat­ing Prime Min­is­ter Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar in the mo­tion since it was not about her but AG Anand Ram­lo­gan.
