The 2012 edition of the Secondary Schools' Football League has come to an end and the INTERCOL tournament is expected to start on Friday 9th of October. This week, The Libero wishes to turn its attention to our national Under-20 boys who have travelled to the island of Jamaica to compete in the final round of qualifying for the CONCACAF U20 championship.
The Jomal Williams led outfit played three matches whilst there, and the results will be published in the next issue of the magazine. On Monday 5th November they faced Puerto Rico. On Wednesday 7th and 8th they faced Haiti for a game.
This team has been training for a while and their last bit of preparation came in the form of a practice match against Point Fortin FC where our young warriors were defeated by a 2-1 margin.
Many of the players on this team have been shining in the Secondary Schools' Football League this year. Their performances have helped their team come up on top of the others because they were able to provide that edge over the others with their expert skills and undergoing strenuous training sessions.
Players like Shackiel Henry, Jomal Williams, Quesi Weston, Adan Noel, Akeem Garcia and Keane Mc Ivor, to name a few, are all set to shine for the red, black and white. All these players are currently attached to a Secondary School team and have been very instrumental in victories.
The gieMAGAZINE and The Libero wish to congratulate the players on the team for being chosen as the best in their age group and the creme of the crop in the country.
