T&T-born so­pra­no Tahi­rah Os­borne is sched­uled to stage a Christ­mas recital on De­cem­ber 29 in Cas­cade. Os­borne's show is en­ti­tled A Gift from Tahi­rah, and will fea­ture ap­pear­ances by Na­talia Dop­well and John Thomas, with Shel­don Morales on pi­ano.

Os­borne may be known to lo­cal mu­sic lovers as a mem­ber of the Mar­i­onettes Chorale and Youth Chorale. She has won a num­ber of awards in the Mu­sic Fes­ti­val, in­clud­ing the Sco­tia­bank Chal­lenge Tro­phy for the most promis­ing per­former in 2008, and has sung at state ban­quets for lu­mi­nar­ies such as the Prince of Wales and the Pres­i­dent of Ghana.

Os­borne won a na­tion­al schol­ar­ship to study mu­sic at the Roy­al Acad­e­my of Mu­sic in Lon­don, where she won awards for out­stand­ing vo­cal and aca­d­e­m­ic achieve­ment. Since Sep­tem­ber she has been a cho­ris­ter at the Roy­al Acad­e­my of Mu­sic/Kohn Foun­da­tion Bach Can­tatas Se­ries, and is set to sing the roles of Pam­i­na and Zer­li­na in the Mag­ic Flute and Don Gio­van­ni re­spec­tive­ly, in the up­com­ing Opera Scenes Con­cert at the Roy­al Acad­e­my of Mu­sic.
