Cel­e­brat­ed morn­ing show hosts and so­ca su­per­stars Ja­son "JW" Williams and An­cil "Blaze" Isaac Jr have been nom­i­nat­ed in three cat­e­gories at the pres­ti­gious 30th an­nu­al In­ter­na­tion­al Reg­gae and World Mu­sic Awards (IRAW­MA) which is sched­uled take place in the pair's vi­brant home­land of T&T.With­in re­cent years JW and Blaze have played a strong role in this coun­try's pop cul­ture land­scape and have dom­i­nat­ed ra­dio, tele­vi­sion and mu­sic with their cre­ativ­i­ty, wit and in­fec­tious per­son­al­i­ties. At the cer­e­mo­ny on May 28 in the Na­tion­al Acad­e­my for Per­form­ing Arts, the dy­nam­ic duo will go up against top lo­cal, re­gion­al and in­ter­na­tion­al per­form­ers in the cat­e­gories of Best Male Ca­lyp­so/So­ca En­ter­tain­er, Best Song, and Best Mu­sic Video.

The pair's 2010 mega hit tune, Palance, not on­ly helped them cap­ture the In­ter­na­tion­al So­ca Monarch and T&T Road March ti­tles but al­so pro­pelled them in­to the up­per stratos­phere of the Caribbean mu­sic uni­verse. These ma­jor wins af­ford­ed them the op­por­tu­ni­ty to tour the world ex­ten­sive­ly, and spend the en­tire year of 2010 shar­ing stages with ma­jor head­lin­ing acts such as Ne-Yo, Nic­ki Mi­naj, Mava­do and Machel Mon­tano. One half of the en­er­getic So­ca tag-team, JW said he was ho­n­oured to be recog­nised by an in­ter­na­tion­al body such as IRAW­MA, and that hav­ing this well known awards show on lo­cal soil was a great step in the right di­rec­tion to­wards Caribbean uni­ty and in­te­gra­tion. The Syn­er­gy TV per­son­al­i­ty re­called hav­ing pre­vi­ous­ly an­nounced the win­ners of past IRAW­MA cer­e­monies, and said he felt blessed to be nom­i­nat­ed along­side 2010's lead­ing per­form­ers and heav­i­ly ro­tat­ed songs.

Williams fur­ther stat­ed, "Blaze and I are look­ing for­ward to the great qual­i­ty and promi­nence that the awards will be bring­ing to our lo­cal shores." Whether or not the 'Palancers' will have the home field ad­van­tage is left to be seen on May 28.They will com­pete in three cat­e­gories against mu­sic in­dus­try heavy­weights in­clud­ing Bill­board chart top­pers Drake and Gypt­ian, reg­gae croon­er Jah Cure, and cur­rent In­ter­na­tion­al Groovy So­ca Monarch, Kees Di­ef­fen­thaller.
