The first day of the Re­pub­lic Bank spon­sored Caribbean Ju­nior Open came to a close with some in­ter­est­ing bat­tles loom­ing over the next two days at the St An­drew's Golf Course, Mo­ka Mar­aval. Yes­ter­day, in the 16-17 di­vi­sion Ar­naud Wo­jik from Saint Mar­tin led the way with the day's best score of 75 at the close. Tied sec­ond are T&T's An­drei Collins and Jean-Marc Lawrence who both shot 81. 2010 win­ner Brit­tany Mar­quez heads the 16-17 girls di­vi­sion with an 85 she is fol­lowed by Na­talyia Ra­hamat­u­la with an 88.

The girls 14-15 di­vi­sion is lead by Christi­na Fer­reira who shot an 80, while the boys 14-15 is turn­ing out to be a re­al tus­sle be­tween team mates Wan Ju Lee who shot a fine 78 and Di­nesh Jack­ree who had an 80, Ba­hami­an Ja­son Edge­combe who shot an 81. In the girls 13-and-un­der there is a tie for the lead with T&T 2010 CA­JGC team­mates Ys­abelle Lawrence and Kezia Bai­ley both shoot­ing 98, while in the boys 13-and-un­der Liam Bry­den leads the way shoot­ing 85 to Sahin Ku­mars 86. This all points to an ex­cit­ing sec­ond-day's play to­mor­row.
