Swami hailed for spirited work

The In­ter­na­tion­al Med­i­ta­tion So­ci­ety of Trinidad and To­ba­go on be­half of its par­ent or­gan­i­sa­tion, the Glob­al Coun­try of World Peace with head­quar­ters in Hol­land, ho­n­oured Swa­mi Bra­hamdeo ji at a func­tion held at Plaza de Mon­trose, in Ch­agua­nas on April 16. Swa­mi Prakash Anand, pres­i­dent of the Chin­maya mis­sion, La­dy Swa­mi At­manan­da, Dr Lin­da Ba­boolal and her hus­band, and Dr Lana Bood­hoo were among the many in­vit­ed guests in at­ten­dance. A spe­cial fea­ture was the pre­sen­ta­tion of spe­cial ap­point­ment of Swa­mi Bra­hamdeo as trustee and di­rec­tor of Ma­har­ishi's To­tal Knowl­edge for the In­di­an Com­mu­ni­ty in Trinidad and To­ba­go.

This spe­cial ap­point­ment was made by Ma­hara­ja Ad­hi­ra­ja Ra­jaRaam (Dr Tony Nad­er PhD), ad­min­is­tra­tor of the Glob­al Coun­try of World Peace and Ra­ja Luis Alverez, the ad­min­is­tra­tor for the glob­al coun­try of world peace for Latin Amer­i­ca, and Ra­ja Gra­ham De Fre­itas, the Ra­ja for T&T. Ra­ja Gra­ham pre­sent­ed the award to Swa­mi Bra­hamdeo. The award was in ap­pre­ci­a­tion of Swa­mi Bra­hamdeo's tire­less work of the past years in prop­a­gat­ing the Vedic wis­dom of In­dia through­out this re­gion, and es­pe­cial­ly his ap­pre­ci­a­tion and prop­a­ga­tion of Ma­har­ishi's Tran­scen­den­tal Med­i­ta­tion and TM Sid­hi pro­grammes, as well as the 40 as­pects of Ve­da in the Hu­man Phys­i­ol­o­gy to the In­di­an com­mu­ni­ties. Guests were treat­ed to an elec­tron­ic dis­play of the ef­fects of the Vedic mantras on the hu­man phys­i­ol­o­gy.

Dr David Lee Sheng Tin, the na­tion­al di­rec­tor of In­ter­na­tion­al Med­i­ta­tion So­ci­ety, ex­plained that the Vedic mantras when chant­ed in its prop­er se­quence, me­tre and in­to­na­tion pro­duced pos­i­tive ef­fects on the mind and body. Chant­i­ng of Vedic mantras to al­le­vi­ate cer­tain dis­eases are now be­ing used by Ma­har­ishi's world­wide or­gan­i­sa­tion un­der a pro­gram called Vedic Vi­bra­tion Ther­a­py. This an­cient Vedic tech­nol­o­gy for pro­mot­ing health and de­vel­op­ing high­er states of con­scious­ness was re­vived by His Ho­li­ness Ma­har­ishi Ma­hesh Yo­gi, who guid­ed Ma­hara­ja Nad­er Raam in his dis­cov­ery of Ve­da and Vedic Lit­er­a­ture in the Hu­man Phys­i­ol­o­gy. The dis­play can be seen at the TM Cen­ter at Plaza D Mon­trose.
