To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly (THA) Chief Sec­re­tary Orville Lon­don is con­cerned about Prime Min­is­ter Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar's an­nounce­ment that the Crown Point In­ter­na­tion­al Air­port is to be re­named af­ter for­mer Pres­i­dent and Prime Min­is­ter of Trinidad and To­ba­go Arthur NR Robin­son.Lon­don said all the ground­work is com­plete and the process is about to be fi­nalised. He said a mo­tion was brought to the as­sem­bly for the re­nam­ing of the air­port and was unan­i­mous­ly vot­ed on."A mo­tion had been moved in the House and ap­proved unan­i­mous­ly for the air­port to be named the Arthur NR Robin­son Air­port," he said."Com­ing out of that, a com­mit­tee was set up where the ma­jor­i­ty would have se­lect­ed one per­son, the mi­nor­i­ty se­lect­ed one per­son and I would have se­lect­ed a chair­per­son.

"The com­mit­tee re­port­ed quick­ly and they in­di­cat­ed the way for­ward."Lon­don said the process was near com­ple­tion and all the stake­hold­ers were on board. "The Chief Ad­min­is­tra­tor, with Mr Al­lan Richards the chair­man of the com­mit­tee, would have op­er­a­tionalised the de­ci­sion and they have reached quite a long way," he said."In fact, they have met with all the rel­e­vant au­thor­i­ties, the Civ­il Avi­a­tion Au­thor­i­ty, the Air­ports Au­thor­i­ty and, of course, the Min­istry of Works and Trans­port and they are now at the point where they are just about to fi­nalise the whole process."Lon­don said he was tak­en aback by the an­nounce­ment by Prime Min­is­ter Per­sad-Bisses­sar.
