Outsiders cricket club will come up against Petrotrin in the final of the lucrative bmobile Nationwide Community cricket league on Sunday at Guaracara Park in Pointe-a-Pierre. Outsiders got to the finals with an easy six-wicket victory over D&D Auto World on Indian Arrival Day at Kennedy Park in Diamond, South Trinidad. Batting first, D&D Auto-boasting many former national players-made 97 for four off 20 overs. Former national all rounder Richard Sieuchan top-scored with 27, while Deonarine Deyal made 15. Outsiders then got to victory at 98 for four off 16 overs with Mukesh Bansraj getting 29 and Alvarado Bryce 20.
In the other semifinals, Petrotrin got a 56-run win over Ragoonanan Road. Petrotrin took first strike and made 149/6 off 20 overs with Hollister Pajotte getting 37 and Nicholas Ramphal 38. Ragoonanan Road found this to be a tall order and fell for 93 off 19.4 overs. On Sunday, Ragoonanan Road will meet D&D Auto World in the third place play-off, while Petrotrin and Outsiders will meet for the first prize of $50,000. Chairman of the Nationwide Community League, Nazrudeen Mohammed said he was very happy with the tournament although in its inaugural year. "We were able to touch different communities throughout Trinidad and Tobago and we will be looking to expand as we move forward," he said.
