Fatima College dominated the Digicel Schools Rugby Football Union Awards which were held on Wednesday, taking both the Under-17 and Under-14 titles. The function, held at Fatima College Hall, saw Christian Chin, captain of the victorious Fatima Under-17 team, collecting his team's award from Natalie Black, Digicel's Outdoor and Special Events coordinator. Black also presented Kareem James, captain of the Fatima Under-14 team, with his winning trophy.
The gathering was addressed by Gregory Rousseau, president of the Schools Rugby Football Union and Leslie Figaro, President of the Rugby Football Union, both of whom encouraged the players to maintain their commitment to the sport, reminding them that, as the future senior players, it would be their job to elevate the game to a higher standard. Michael Phillips, renowned national cyclist advised the athletes to follow their dreams and put in the effort necessary to succeed. The ceremony ended with a moment of silence in honour of the passing of Allyson Hennessy, an avid supporter of Rugby.
