Pic­ture this: as a law-abid­ing cit­i­zen you work hard, save hard, and fi­nal­ly sell your soul to the bank to own your home. You pay your land tax­es and util­i­ties on time to en­sure se­cu­ri­ty in the form of shel­ter for you and your fam­i­ly. Be aware though that should you miss your land tax­es dead­line for pay­ment, the Gov­ern­ment has the right to re­lieve you of your prop­er­ty.

Now pic­ture this: you squat on gov­ern­ment lands for free, and you steal, sor­ry, bor­row elec­tric­i­ty, ca­ble, and wa­ter. The Gov­ern­ment de­cides to build homes for more law-abid­ing cit­i­zens who now have to sell their souls to banks and mort­gage com­pa­nies.

So what do you the "bor­row­er" of gov­ern­ment lands do? You go on tele­vi­sion and oth­er me­dia and you bad-mouth the same Gov­ern­ment from which you have been "bor­row­ing." The Gov­ern­ment then pays you (the "bor­row­er") com­pen­sa­tion for the "bor­rowed" land and re­lo­ca­tion. Who said crime does not pay?
