The Hy­att Re­gency Trinidad Ho­tel will be the venue for two up­com­ing con­fer­ences. The first will be the Project Man­age­ment In­sti­tute South­ern Caribbean Chap­ter's sixth bi­en­ni­al in­ter­na­tion­al con­fer­ence on Sep­tem­ber 20 and 21. The theme is, Bridg­ing the Gap: Strate­gic Thought Trans­formed Through Project Man­age­ment. Trans­port Min­is­ter De­vant Ma­haraj is to de­liv­er the fea­ture ad­dress. Eu­gene Bounds, for­mer chair­man of the PMI board in 2010, will be the event's keynote speak­er.

There will be an ex­ec­u­tive pan­el com­pris­ing Gopal Ka­pur, pres­i­dent of the Cen­tre for Project Man­age­ment, Jear­lean John, chair­man of the Ur­ban De­vel­op­ment Cor­po­ra­tion of T&T (Ude­cott), Khalid Has­sanali, vice-pres­i­dent, plan­ning and projects at Petrotrin, and Michael PA Charles, im­me­di­ate past pres­i­dent of PMI SCC, who will serve as mod­er­a­tor for the dis­cus­sion on the con­fer­ence theme.

The sec­ond con­fer­ence, to be host­ed by the Arthur Lok Jack Grad­u­ate School of Busi­ness, is ti­tled, Ad­vanc­ing Women in Busi­ness.

The event will be held on Oc­to­ber 18.

Two in­ter­na­tion­al busi­ness coach­es will speak.

Dr Car­ol Kin­sey Gor­man, pres­i­dent of Kin­sey Con­sult­ing Ser­vices, will speak about lead­ers' silent lan­guage, how body lan­guage can help or hurt.

Dr Lois Frankel, au­thor of See Jane Lead, will speak about 99 ways for women to take charge at work.
